Nano Technology

Scientists can control matter
on an atomic molecular scale,
extremely small particles
of 100 nanometers,
developing materials and devices
within that size.

There has been debate
on the future of nano technology
by advocacy groups and governments
on whether special regulations
of nano technology is warranted.

The catalytic activity of nanomaterials
opens potential risks in their interaction
with other biomaterials
leaving speculation
of ominous grey goo
or various doomsday scenarios.

I had no idea you were a scientist
until I discovered
you created a microscopic filter
between what I’ve said
and what you’ve heard.

  1. Ha! This is great. Wasn’t sure where you were going with it, and the last stanza came out of nowhere with its canny humor. Plus, I’m glad you mentioned grey goo, because it’s right up there with “dark matter” and “quark” on the list of Scientific Names For Things that I love.

  2. (hey, your spam word thinks I’m “human587”. I wonder at that number)

This one’s sly. I wonder if ominous grey goo is related to green slime.
